This stunning Lakota Sioux style Breastplate is a version of the costume Lakota Sioux Breastplate worn by the character "Wind In His Hair" (Rodney Grant) in the Kevin Costner movie, Dances with Wolves...

Our Lakota Sioux style Breastplate measures 7.5" wide X 14.5" high. It is constructed of Tan Leather Lacing and 4 columns and 42 rows of 1.5 inch high quality faux Bone Hairpipes, each 1.5 inches long. There are also 2 short rows of Hairpipes on the bottom edge of the piece.

At each end of the Hairpipes are 1/8" Brown woodtone trading beads. Just ourside the lacing frame are little Orangie- Red Trading Beads and laced to them is a larger woodtone bead to complete the balance of the horizontal bead work.

Separating the center rows of faux Hairpipes are Silvertone Trading Beads. At the end of the breastplate there are 2 short rows of hairpipes . Hanging from them are lacings trimed with Yellow, Turquoise and Orange beads with little multi-colored feathers.

This piece is stunning as a Indian costume accessory, a PowWow Dance Breastplate and just as striking as a decorative wall mount... Either way, this piece is bound to bring lots of conversation!
